I have a newly bought and newly built house. I need the basement finished so i can put 2 rooms and a living room down there. my current basement has cracks in the wall and old windows from when it was originally built. I want to redesign the basement with dry wall or something comparably close to it. The wash room is also in the basement along with a bedroom that's coming apart, and a so called family room that needs updating to the 21st century.

Curious about remodeling a home theatre room in a home purchase. Things I am interested in is the cost of installing new lighting (recessed round lights with dimmer), and running wiring for speakers, projectors, etc through the walls. This would be in a basement room which is already drywalled on all 4 walls/ceiling. Options for building shelving into the wall for electronics would also be nice, as well as the potential for a partial raised floor for additional seating.

I would like to finish my basement. Approximately 400 sq. feet to finish. Need framed and drywalled 25 feet of wall with 8.5 foot ceilings (rest of framing/drywall is already complete). 2 doors installed to provide access to a storage area and a bathroom. Bathroom finishing to include toilet, sink, and shower (all standard level quality). We plan to use a drop ceiling and will need to adjust electrical to include recessed lighting and possible addition of 3-4 outlets. May need hvac update--not sure here. Home is 5 years old.
